Infectious diseases service

Our infectious diseases service provides care for inpatients (hospital-based) and outpatients (home-based) at our Tauranga and Whakatāne hospitals.

There are weekly clinics in infectious diseases, viral hepatitis and HIV.

Hospital in the Home services are available for patients requiring longer-term intravenous antibiotic therapy. This is accessed through an infectious disease team run by the District Nurse service. The infection service is supported by an antimicrobial pharmacist.
