Bay of Plenty Community Dental Service COVID-19 Updates
Bay of Plenty Community Dental Service COVID-19 Updates
COVID-19 "DELTA" LEVEL 2
We were closed for 3 weeks over lockdown Level 3 and 4 in 2021 (and for seven weeks in 2020). These closures have affected the way we have to deliver our dental services for kids and teens
If your child or teen has an appointment booked with us in the coming months, then we may have to contact you to re-schedule
For some kids and teens, their yearly check-ups will be postponed, as we are offering appointments to those most in need of our dental services. Our priority groups are:
- Our Māori and Pacific tamariki
- Those needing urgent or emergency care
- Those most overdue to be seen
- Our Year 8 students who will be transferring out of our service this year
- Our youngest and most vulnerable kids
To help keep everyone safe and well, our Community Dental service for kids and teens must follow Ministry of Health and Dental Council of NZ guidelines
- All people who enquire by phone are assessed and given appointments or advice, as required
- All clinics have personal protective equipment available for staff use, because our consistent use of aerosol generating procedures (high speed drills, water and air sprays) can help spread airborne viruses like COVID-19
- All clinics follow all contact-tracing requirements
For all enquiries, please phone 0800 TALKTEETH (0800 825 583) or email CH4kidsdentaladmin@bopdhb.govt.nz
