Rapid antigen tests (RATs) are being made available in the Bay of Plenty.

This includes at testing sites, for people who fit the appropriate clinical criteria.

The site will determine which test (PCR or RAT) is best for you.

As the outbreak grows there will be more close contacts we need to test.  RATs will relieve pressure on the PCR testing and reserve it for those most likely to have COVID.

People who are directed to have a RAT will be given advice on what to do if they have a positive result.

To find out how rapid antigen testing works and what to do when you get your test results, see the Ministry of Health website.
