ED is for emergencies

ED is for emergencies

In an Emergency Department every second counts.

We have to be prepared to treat serious life-threatening conditions immediately.
These life and death situations cannot wait, which means you might have to.

For life threatening conditions, severe or rapidly worsening symptoms or major injuries:
Call 111 or go to your nearest Emergency Department (ED):
Tauranga Hospital Whakatāne Hospital
For minor illnesses or injuries:
Visit a walk-in medical centre
For infections or persistent symptoms:
Visit your family doctor (GP) or health clinic
For everyday ailments or symptoms:
Visit your local pharmacy

You might not have to come to ED at all.  But we're here if you need us.

We have a zero tolerance policy to physical, emotional and verbal abuse. ALL persons who demonstrate this behaviour will be asked to leave the premises.
